Afterward, we head to a restaurant for a buffet lunch with “espeto corrido” service. Return to the hotel.
Dinnet at Fogon de chao
Known since the 1960s in the southern region of Brazil, the tradition of “espeto corrido” (continuous skewers) allows customers to sample all the available cuts of meat. These cuts are brought directly from the grill to the tables on skewers, letting everyone choose the portion and doneness they prefer.
When Fogo de Chão opened its first location in Porto Alegre in 1979, the concept was to serve various cuts alongside an all you-can-eat salad bar and traditional side dishes. Fogo de Chão caters to all tastes with its high-quality cuts of meat and diverse buffet, which even satisfies vegetarians.
The location is perfect, overlooking Guanabara Bay and practically at the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain, offering a magnificent postcard view of Rio de Janeiro.
Day 4: Excursion tropical paradise and telegraph stone.
Tropical Paradise Tour
There’s a stunning world beyond the hustle and bustle of the city, where lush rainforest-covered mountains meet the crystal-clear ocean waves. On this tour, you’ll discover a side of Rio known only to locals.
This “Tropical Paradise” is located in the western part of Rio, about an hour from Copacabana. Spend the day with us, riding in an open-top Jeep, soaking in the sights and scents, and leaving all your worries behind. We’ll start from Rio’s South Zone and head towards Barra. Once there, we’ll cruise along the coastline, passing endless beaches like Barra, Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Prainha, and Grumari.
We’ll drive past Grumari Beach (don’t worry, we’ll return) and venture over the mountain. After descending, we’ll begin a 2.5 hour hike to explore and ascend the “Telegraph Rock. ” Once at the top, you’ll see why it’s such a well-kept secret. From this altitude, you can take in all of Rio: Pedra da Gávea, the 42 km Marambaia Restinga sandbar, the beaches we passed on the way, and, on a clear day, even the Christ the Redeemer statue. Take your time to relax, breathe, and marvel at Rio’s natural beauty.
After reconnecting with nature, we’ll head back to Grumari Beach in the Jeep. Here, we’ll stop at a charming and secluded wooden kiosk by the beach, where the water is always calm. Enjoy your lunch while soaking in the breathtaking views. You’ll soon understand why this tour is called Tropical Paradise! With full bellies and sun-kissed skin, our return journey to the city hugs the coastline, offering more incredible views. This full-day escape from the crowds is a visual feast and an unforgettable adventure.
