Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro

Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel to settle in. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll along Copacabana or Ipanema beach, enjoying the lively atmosphere and perhaps trying a refreshing caipirinha at a beachfront bar.

 

Day 2: Exploring Rio de Janeiro

Start your day visiting the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, enjoying panoramic views over the city. Then take a cable car ride up Sugarloaf Mountain for stunning vistas of Guanabara Bay. Afterward, explore the historic downtown, including colonial architecture and vibrant street life.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Petrópolis

Day 4: Drive to Tiradentes

Day 5: Day trip to Congonhas and back to Tiradentes

Visit Congonhas to admire the famous Sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its remarkable baroque statues by Aleijadinho. Return to Tiradentes for an evening at leisure, perhaps exploring more local culture or enjoying a quiet dinner.

 

Day 6: Travel to Ouro Preto

Arrive in Ouro Preto, another UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its colonial architecture and gold mining history. Visit ornate baroque churches like São Francisco de Assis and explore museums showcasing colonial art and history. Enjoy panoramic views over the mountainous landscape.

 

Day 7: Head to Belo Horizonte

Transfer to Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais state. Explore its modern architecture, vibrant markets, and cultural venues. This day offers a mix of urban discovery and relaxing time at your own pace.

 

Day 8: Flight to Salvador

Fly to Salvador, the cultural heart of Brazil’s Afro-Brazilian heritage. Upon arrival, visit the historic Pelourinho district with its colorful colonial buildings, lively plazas, and local crafts markets. Experience the rhythms of samba and capoeira filling the streets.

 

Day 9: Salvador city tour

Delve deeper into Salvador’s culture with visits to key sites like the São Francisco Church, Mercado Modelo, and perhaps a candomblé ceremony or local music performance. Savor Bahian cuisine famous for its African influences.

 

Day 10: Transfer to Boipeba Island

Take a boat ride to Boipeba Island, a peaceful and relatively untouched paradise. Enjoy the tranquility of the island’s beaches, natural pools, and mangrove forests. This is a chance to unwind away from the bustle.

 

Days 11 to 14: Leisure on Boipeba Island

Spend these days relaxing on pristine beaches, swimming in crystal-clear waters, and exploring the island’s trails and small fishing villages. Optional activities include snorkeling, kayaking, or simply enjoying fresh seafood at local restaurants.

 

Day 15: Return to Salvador and Departure

Return by boat to Salvador for your onward flight, bringing an end to your rich journey through Brazil’s colonial history and natural beauty.
